Brown Spotting and Trying to Conceive: What to Expect

I am 28 years old and my husband and I are trying for our first child.  My last period started on Nov. 24th.  I began spotting between periods last year.  My gyn and I tried different pills to control it.  I finally had it controlled with "the ring" but then we decided to try for a baby.  Since stopping birth control, I still spot a few days before my period (brown spotting)bukt it is not as bad as it was last year.  From reading other questions I know that this brown spotting a few days before menstration in normal.  My question is... If I am spotting brown does it mean that I am not pregnant?

You can have brownish spotting in early pregnancy as well as just before starting your monthly cycle. It may be "old blood" that is being extruded out of the uterus by the growing fetus, or it may merely be old blood from your previous cycle that was still in the uterus.If your last period started on November 24,you were due for your next period around December 21 and if you do not get your period by December 28, take a pregnancy test and you will know for sure.
