Medroxyprogesterone & Irregular Periods: What You Need to Know

Question
Okay So For a couple years not my period has been irregular. About five months ago i was bleeding for about 3 months May-July. I went to the doctor and they said that my uterus was enlarged and it was just letting go of the blood. So they gave me medroxyprogesterone and told me to take it for 10 days. I started taking it on July 17th and ended on July 27th. My period came on Aug 9th and ended around the 13th. The doc told me that it would be easy for me to get pregnant in the month after my period ended and My period should come around the same time it came the previous month (eg. It came on Aug 9th it should come around sept 9th.) My period never came and it is now october 9th and my period has not come yet. I took a pregnancy test around Sept 9th and it was negative. I am wondering now if it possible that I am preg since this is the second month that I have not had a period. Could it be that they just went back to being irregular. I am having some mild lower abdominal cramps, more like little twinges in my pelvic area. I have heartburn alot and bad headaches. I only have one side of my reproductive system that works properly one of my falopian tubes was removed due to surgery to remove a tumor on my ovary. So what could be the problem? I want to be pregnant and have been trying for a couple years but it is never successful.

Answer
Hi Vet,

You could be having a hormonal imbalance, which is nothing to worry about and will correct itself. Your period may be returning back to irregular, and the cramps, twinges, heartburn and headaches is most likely gas. If this continues go back to your doctor.
