Understanding Persistent Body Aches: Causes & Relief

Question
I have been having body aches, I assume it is from the flu/or virus since my whole family has been sick at some point.  My son had a fever and sore throat.  The fever was only one night but the sore throat lasted a few days.
My question is, I have been hurting over a week!  No fever, and my only other symptoms are a stuffy nose from time to time and a mild ear ache from time to time as well as mild headache.  The body aches are not as bad as when it first started but I still have that tense feeling.
Is it normal to ache that long?  I am still functioning but not very well some days, lol.  Thanks.

Answer
You said no fever.... with the ear pain and nose symptoms I was wondering whether you could have had a weird case of strep throat, but without fever would be unusual.  No, it isn't normal to ache this long... If you came into my office with this, I probably would check some routine tests, such as a complete blood count and make sure there isn't a more serious illness other than an upper respiratory infection going on.

If it persists, that would be my recommendation....

Hope this helps...
