I am a 23 year old woman. Yesterday morning (9/16/04)I abruptly woke up from sleeping and sat up VERY quickly, I felt a terribly sharp (peircing) pain in my lower right abdomen, I laid back down, and went back to sleep. When I got up later, my stomache was unusually bloated (I'm over a week away from my menstrual cycle beginning)I went to work and throughout the day the bloating got worse and the pain would be piercing occasionally (always in the same spot). Last night after I got home the pain got so bad that I got dizzy (a fainting feeling)and felt very nautious-to the point of being bent over. I laid down and it's still going on today (but definatley worse and more constant pain. I had an appendectomy 4 years ago but I swear that is exactly what it feels like & where the pain is (maybe a little lower) but it's accompanied with an indigestion-like feeling in my chest and I can't stand straight up. I'm pretty worried. Please Help...Thank you so much for your time.

While this sounds like a ruptured ovarian cyst if you are sexually active it could also be an ectopic pregnancy attempting to rupture so Call your doctor today or go to the emergency rooms for a CT scan or ultrasound to be safe. OK?
What is an ectopic pregnancy? I have been married for 6 months and only then became sexually active but have been extremely consistant with my birth control pills(lo-egestrol - sp?) Is that still possible? Also, are these two possibilities things that must be addressed right this minute? I'm at work until 5:00pm but will go now if necessary. Thank you so much!

This is a pregnancy that occurs outside the uterus. OK?
I have been married for 6 months and only then became sexually active but have been extremely consistant with my birth control pills(lo-egestrol - sp?) Is that still possible? Yes, but less likely if you are on the pill but the ovarian cyst rupture should not occur if you are on the pill either. OK?
Also, are these two possibilities things that must be addressed right this minute? Only if you still have pain. Either way you should call your doctor for advice. OK?
