QuestionI have been dealing with endo. for about 4yr's. I have had it all. 6 surgey's in one year, to remove the endo. that finally lead up to me having a partial hyst. I have still have many problems, and am to afraid to go back to the doctor. He has told me that I would need a nother surgey to remove my ovary's. I'm only 23 and feel as though this it to extream. I'm i right?
Thank-you for your time!
Julie
AnswerHi Julie,
So, should I assume that by saying you had a partial hysterectomy that you have no uterus? Where was the endo located? Did the same dr do all 6 surgeries?
Yes, I do think that many surgeries in that short of time seems excessive, but it happens all the time. Most drs don't really understand endo. I was very fortunate to receive treatment at The Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta. It has been 2 years this month and I feel great. My periods are non-eventful for the first time in 25 years. I don't know where you are located, but you can read about what they do at CEC at their website www.centerforendo.com. There's also Dr. Redwine in Oregon and Dr. Cook in CA.
You are young and there is help out there, just very limited. Beware of Lupron. Have you tried BCP's? They helped some in younger years.
You can go through the phone book and call area OB/GYN's in your area and ask how many patients they treat have endo.
Hope I have helped some.
