Sinus Infection Symptoms & Treatment: What You Need to Know

Question
I think I have a sinus infection. It has been a couple of weeks now. I first noticed it because every time I would blow my nose it was bloody. I then noticed that my nasal passages (both sides) are very  swollen and bright red, but not to the point that either nostril is every plugged up. It's not always bloody when I blow my nose anymore but when I woke up this morning my cheeks were red and my right cheek bone is very tender. I have been using Fluticasone twice a day, for about a week and a half. I have no fever but have had headaches behind my eyes.

I thought it was getting better but now question it because of the pain in my cheek. Do I keep doing what I'm doing or is it time to see my doctor?

Answer
I think you are right.... flucticasone is a good allergy medicine, not so effective for sinus infections.

You need antibiotics and I like using AFRIN nose spray 2-3 times a day for up to a week and that usually fixes it up.... so yes, time to see the doctor.
