Fetal Heart Rate: Understanding Normal Ranges and Potential Concerns

MY DAUGHTER IS EXPECTING HER FIRST BABY IN FEB. THE HEART RATE STARTED OUT IN THE 180'S AND NOW IS IN THE 130'S. IS THIS NORMAL OR SHOULD WE BE CONCERNED AND FIGURE OUT WHY? THANKS, PATRICIA

Dear Patricia,   Her OB/GYN should be the one addressing this question since he/she is the one who knows all about your daughter's medical history and any medical problems...

A normal heart rate for an unborn fetus is 120-160 so if your daughter is in the 120's, then all should be okey...
