QuestionIt will take me over a month to get an appointment to see my neurologist. Is there a commercial vitamin mix that I could start taking while waiting for an appointment. At 79 I am not worried about after effects, I am worried about further deterioration. Can the condition be reversed by diet or exercise?-------------------------

Just turned 79 and a great deal of flesh is leaving my hands. The area between my thumbs and first finger is badly sunken as is the pad on the heel of my hand next to my little fingers. The flesh between the ligaments from my wrist to my knuckles is shrinking. The rest of my body isn't like this with the exception of wrinkles. My hands are starting to be an embarrasment to me. Is there anything to be done other than wear gloves? They way they are deteriorating, it won't be long before they look like something on a skelaton.
Answer -
This is due to a neuromuscular wasting disorder that some relate to B complex vitamin and mineral deficiency. See a neurologist and See if the follow are OK with your doctor:
1) B-100 before each meal
2) 2000mg of omega 3 before each meal
3) 1/2 of a Centrum Silver before breakfast and dinner
4) 1000mg of Vit C before each meal
5) 250 mg of magnesium oxide before each meal but not in the same pill as the calcium and vit D
6) Calcium carbonate 500mg with Vit D before breakfast and before dinner.
