Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Treatment Options: Drugs, Physical Therapy & Injections

Question
Doctor i have carpal tunnel in both hands, and i was wandering before i think of getting a shot is there any drugs that i could ask my doctor to try on me?  Or would it be a waste of time for physical therapy i read that ultrasound can sometimes help.
If i  do need a shot im assuming that i would only get one hand done at a time?  and is there any side effects after a shot?  Thanks doctor.

Answer
standard treatment are cock up wrist splints, using motrin like drugs; if that doesn't work, then a trial of oral prednisone (steroids) or injecting steroids in the wrists.... if that doesn't work, then surgery, via a laparascope by an orthopedic hand surgeon... no real side effects from a single steroid shot... I would do one at a time, worse one first.

phys therapy- I wouldn't do.

Hope this helps...
