QuestionLately when I go to sleep I end up waking up to a numb arm from my elbow to the tips of my fingers. My fingers are swelled also. When my arm is in use it doesn't go numb but sometimes there is mild pain in the elbow joint, wrist and fingers. This happens every night, sometimes 2-3 times. It takes about 2 hours for all of the numbness to go out of it. It is very painful when this happens. My arm feels cold. Can you tell me what this is and what I can do about it?
AnswerYes, see your doctor to be sure you have not developed a vena cava syndrome or blood clot.
Ask your doctor but this is what I use for my patients to restore the nerve function if there is none of the above:
1) Fish oil 2000mg before each meal and at bedtime
2) High Potency B complex, (B-100) before each meal
3) Magnesium oxide 250 mg before each meal and at bed
4) Calcium carbonate with Vit D at dinner and bed
5) Vit C 500 mg before each meal
6) Vit E 400 IU twice a day
7) Cinnamon 1/4 tsp in food before each meal if over weight
