Understanding Hormonal Changes in Women: A Medical Perspective

Question
Hi there.

I'm not sure if this question could have been better directed elsewhere but I could not find a medically qualified volunteer in women's health and so have come to you.

First, my history.

Age: 25
Children: 2, aged 5 and 7 - both born by emlscs pre-term
Contraception:  Sterilised 1 year ago by tubal clamps (due to previous problem pregnancies and compliactions with a migrated Mirena Coil)
Periods:  Regular 28-30 day cycle - LMP 3/02/06
Medical:  Generally healthy.  Diagnosed with cervical cancer (stage 1a1) in October of last year which currently appears to have been successfully treated by surgery (LLETZ) (was diagnosed in lab after surgical treatment for CIN)
Medication: NONE

OK so with that bit out of the way I can tell you my problem.

I seem to be going through some kind of hormonal change.  If I were older, I may put it down to the menopause, or if I were fertile I would probably be taking a pregnancy test right now!

My periods are fine.  However, in the last couple of months I have experienced weight gain, acne, emotional ups and downs, and enlarged tender breasts.

None of these symptoms are particularly acute or a problem in themselves but the nature of them as a whole tends to make me think it is hormonal.  The problem is I am not one to complain and would feel very silly going to see my GP over these minor problems.

I wonder if you could give me any indication as to what might be causing these symptoms, alternatively what action (if any) my GP may take if I do go see her.  I have just about had enough of tests and hospital trips with the cervical cancer.

Thank you very much for any help you may be able to offer.

Answer
weight gain, acne, emotional ups and downs, and enlarged tender breasts.

These are generally due to too much plant oils in the body and too little omega 3 and B complex so if OK with your doctors you could consider:
2000mg of omega 3 before each meal
B-50 High Potency B Complex before each meal.

My patients get immediate relief but you need to clear with your doctor to be sure it is OK with you.
