QuestionMy last mammogram indicated micro calcifications in my left
breast. The calcifications are up to high to do a neddle
biospy and very close to my rib cage I guess. My question is I have chronic shoulder problems since 1986, I have recieved steriod injection. Can these be associated with my shoulder problems. I have received numerous injections, treatment, theraphy can this be the problem be a shoulder rather than breast problem? Are there other test that I can have performed that can should calcifications of the shoulder?
Thanks, Lula Simmons
AnswerI really do not understand why a needle biopsy should be impossible due to the location. In my experience it can be done more or less everywhere & anywhere! Shoulder problems can cause calcifications close to the shoulder joint in joint, muscle, ligament & tendon structures there but I have never seen any in the breast associated with such problems. MRI & ultrasound scans of your breasts can also be of value!
