Persistent Foot Pain: Plantar Fasciitis Treatment Options

Question
My husband was told that he has plantar fasciitis, he has done the resting of feet, meds, boot at night, now other foot hurts as badly. Both feet are in boots , ice and meds. but the pain continues. It has been now over 6 months and no relief. He hurts so much and can hardly walk. What do we need to do to stop this?

Answer
Hi Mike,
In refractory cases, sometimes a shot of cortisone into the heel area helps. It isn't always helpful, but it's worth a try. The good news is that Plantar Fascitis is self limiting in the majority of cases. It's just waiting it out that is the problem.
