QuestionHello, can you please tell me if i should be concerned with my results as i cant help but feel worried but my doctor doesnt seem to be worried and not suggesting an amino.
I had a scan at 13 weeks, 3 days
CRL: 75mm
NT measurement: 2.8mm
Bloods: Papp A: 0.87 MoM
B-HCG: 0.40 MoM
Adjusted risk for downs syndrome: 1:2300
I am very worried about the 2.8mm measurment, is this considered very thick?
AnswerHello Elizabeth from Australia,
Your NT level of 2.8 is within normal limits at the 13 week gestational age and your risk calculation of 1:2300 is very very very low. I do not think that you need to worry. However, NT measurements in addition to the triple blood test has a higher margin of error than CVS or amniocentesis. So, if you want to be absolutely sure that the fetus is genetically normal, then you would need to have an amniocentesis. I don't think you need it based on your results, but you have to decide if you feel comfortable with this test and the results.
