QuestionFor the last couple of months or so my feet have been swollen.
I am overweight and am bothered from time to time with heart problems, but I exercise regularly, and am in good condition for a fat guy -- like the sumo wrestlers, you might say. I do not seem to have any significant varicose veins -- something which might cause the blood to pool in my feet -- but I could be wrong here.
Any suggestions on the swelling?
AnswerHi John,
You mentioned you have had heart problems. I would strongly suggest you discuss the feet swelling with your physician.
Watching your salt intake and elevating the feet above waist level may help to alleviate some of the swelling but there are other things that need to be checked out like kidney function and cardiac output. When is the last time you had lab work and a good physical?
Again, you need to discuss these symptoms with your physician.
