QuestionMy mother went to the ER on Wednesday with the following symptoms: Upset
Stomach, very bad diarrhea, dizziness, inability to walk very well, slurred
speech, headache(for numerous days), her throat hurts and neck is stiff.
According to the ER she was dehydrated. kidney function was very poor and
her blood pressure was low. She had a stroke several years ago and they
completed a CT scan however as of late this afternoon they apparently do not
have the results. Could she be having another stroke? The hospital does not
seem to be concerned.
Answeryes, this could certainly be an additional stroke. There isn't a specific treatment for a stroke other than support, in the short term and correcting some of the other problems... dehydration, etc... cat scans may not show an acute stroke for several days tho, so I wouldn't base any of my therapy on what the emergency cat scan shows...
