Understanding Stroke Symptoms and Next Steps

My father is 84 years old. Approx 3 months ago he had a black out and fell out of the shower and hit his head which resulted in a bad gash. Last week he had a stroke. Since that time he is having difficulty speaking, walking and balance. I am not sure if the first fall was also a stroke because the old stubborn man refuses to go to the doctor.  My sister in law which is a RN checked him out tonight and told me "He as definitely had a stroke. What action can I take if any, to get my father to the doctor. We can't very well kidnap him. Thank you so much for your time and your commitment to this site.

if this is the same person who asked me about the strokes and death, I got the info in reverse order.... you have to get a CT to tell if the strokes were from trauma or from old age and atherosclerosis..... if he becomes incompetent, you can get a court order to have him medically evaluated....
