Sinusitis & Persistent Headache: Understanding Your Condition

After a cold my doctor diagnosed me with sinusitis (nearly of of the sinuses showed sinusitis on cat scan).  I had originally gone in because of a terrible headache that never left for 2 weeks.  Well after 2 rounds of antibiotics, the headache still comes and goes.  I was put on a strong antibiotic the second round.  I don't have any congestion in my nose and I am breathing clear but when I lay on my side, I can feel mucus in there shifting but it is trapped and won't come out.  I also took Mucinex to loosen the mucus but nothing helps.  Now they are sending me to an ENT.  What more can they do?

They can operate to enlarge the openings to the sinuses but you may want to request 3-6 months on Astelin nasal spray followed in one hour by Nasalcort nasal spray, 6 weeks of bactrim DS twice a day and allegra 180mg daily. All of ours clear one we go to this. Ask your doctor about high dose omega-3 to prevent recurrences.
