QuestionI am 51 years old. I have had an abnormal vaginal discharge for about one week. The discharge appears clear and slippery, but sometimes looks yellowish when on paper. It's not consistent, but when discharged, I can feel it coming out - - it's somewhat excessive. There is no odor and no pain associated with the discharge. Occasionally, I feel a slight irritation (not itching, just occasional irritation).
I first noticed the discharge a day after intercourse with a steady partner and a day before I started my menstruation. After the fact, I recalled that I did not empty my bladder after intercourse. My menstrual cycle has just ended for this month and the discharge is back.
Can you tell me what this sounds like? I've googled it and I can't seem to find any cause that matches all my symptoms.
Thanks,
AnswerI would vote for either bacterial vaginosis- not STD related, or Trichomonas- STD related..... the discharge is not always so blatantly like the books that it is easy.... we can differentiate by looking under a microscope easily.... get it checked.... treatment is flagyl, an oral antibiotic for both.
