-----Question-----
First, I have been taking vicoden for about 2 years almost every day. Although I knkow this has it's own problems, my specific question is about my wife. We want to have a baby, will the vicoden effect my sperm or anything like that??
Secondly, when I sleep, I sweat really bad. My pillow is damp and if I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I can see the sweat through my t shirt. What is this a symptom of??
-----Answer-----
the vicodin is causing the sweats..... it is basically some mild withdrawal to the medication. The vicodin won't hurt your sperm or the baby that it creates... but, vicodin is a very addicting drug, and you need to establish... do you really need it. It is hard to get off of... I am one of the doctors who prescribes Suboxone, a drug that can make getting off Vicodin EASY.... search Suboxone, and you will see a website something like www.samhsa.com and it will have a physician locator to find a doctor near you that can prescribe suboxone if you really want to get off it...
Answerthat sounds too good to be true.... doesn't it. Well, you are right... you just do wake up one day and take subox and the beauty of that medication is that there are no withdrawals and there are no cravings. It is a magical drug.... BUT.... if someone is addicted to Vicodin, Subox makes it easy to switch over, but there are non-drug recovery things that must be done, whether it is counseling, cognitive behavioral treatment, relious counseling, formal outpatient drug treatment, or AA and NA (alcoholics anon and narcotics anonymous) Without the non-drug treatment, people do incredibly well for a few months, then gravitate back. Any doctor that uses it is just as enthusiastic as me..... (the only side effect is that it is as constipating as the vicodin, etc.
