Why Does a Sore Throat Make Your Voice Deeper?

I was wondering would you please explain to me: why whenever we get a sore
throat, our voices sound deeper then normal?

well, you just keep wondering about stuff, don't you..... are you writing a paper on this topic?  anyways, the voice deepens because the vocal cords get infected and they swell a little changing the vibratory pitch and therefore the sound of the voice
