QuestionQUESTION:
I got a flu shot recently - Sept 1. I hear I shouldn't have gotten it so soon. Preferably not until October or November as the effectiveness only lasts a couple months. I have some issues which make it important for me to have one - I work with infants, am over 50, have some chronic health issues. My question is, can I get another flu shot around December or January? I want to make sure I am well protected ALL flu season long. If I can get another one, when should it be and do I need to tell the person administering it that I had one in September? Did I mess up getting it this early? I live in south Texas where flu season hits a little later than cooler climates.
ANSWER: I'm from South Texas, too, Edinburg to be exact. Let me find out your answer. It's a good question, let me do a little research and get back to you!

AnswerRobin,
Great question, and as it turns out, you did NOT get the flu shot too early! Now you can tell your friends: avoid the crowds, get it sooner than later! I am so glad I know the answer to this now. Here's a link below, but I also found other sources agreeing with this.
