Understanding Symptoms in Children: Mononucleosis, Thyroid & Abdominal Issues

Question
my daughter is having some problems the blood test show mononucleosis and her tsh levels are higher some prominent lymph nodes in her neck on the right side and a distended stomach and pain in the lower abdomen and a high hematocrit but her leukocytes are in normal range

Answer
While she is clinically ill with mono, you can't rely on the thyroid tests.... those have to be rechecked at least a month, maybe 2-3 months after she has fully recovered from the mono.

The liver and spleen (and lymph nodes) enlarge, but almost always, just go back down after the illness is attacked by the body's immune system.
