Understanding Low Pulse Ox Readings & Potential Mental Effects

My mom was recently put on oxygen at night because her pulse ox has been running 82 percent for a long period of time at night.  She also has been really confused and paranoid lately, are these two matters related?  How bad can an 82 percent pulse ox affect you mentally?

82% is really really low.... you have to have chronic problems to be able to tolerate numbers that low.   First, you have to make sure the information is accurate... someome who is really anemic or heavy nailpolish or incorrectly fitting device might not read accurately.  But this can cause a lot of symptoms including the confusion.   This is an emergency that needs an evaluation now.
