Understanding Slightly Elevated MCV & MCH: CBC Results Explained

Question
Is there any significance to the slightly elevated  MCV and MCH?  Below are my CBC results:
WBC 8.7
RBC 4.06 (3.8 - 5.10)
HGB 14.0
HCT 41
MCV 100.8 (80 to 100)
MCH 34.5 (27 to 33)
MCHC 34.2 (32 to 36)
RDW13.6 (11 to 16)
Platelets 227
MPV 8.8 (7.7 to 11.5)
All of WBC Diff was in normal range

Thanks so much!

Answer
Both are related and they are non-specific markers.....

The MCV may be elevated due to:

too much alcohol over a long period of time
lead poisoning  (very unlikely)
B12 or Folate deficiency
Chronic liver disease

Or some people simply have a little larger red cells.... it stands for mean cell volume of the red cells.

So, I tend to check a B12/Folate level, assess any chance of too much alcohol or possible liver problems and then ignore it if those don't pan out.   Yours is only minimally elevated also......
