AnswerHi Maledi. The Vitamin D test is a relatively new test. The test measures a person's vitamin D, of course, but new research is showing that a person's Vitamin D level can determine their overall health. Your Vitamin D result is very low. This doesn't necessarily mean that you are unhealthy, but it appears that you do need to raise the amount of Vitamin D in your body. This is achieved by getting an adequate amount of sunshine every day. Sunlight is essential for your body to process and use the Vitamin D you may get from your diet. If this isn't possible or you live in a cold, dreary climate in the wintertime, you can get your Vitamin D from Vitamin D (with calcium) supplements, by drinking plenty of milk, and consuming Vitamin D-fortified products (such as cereal). Because your Vitamin D is so low, though, it may be a good idea to start taking the Vitamin D supplements regardless of how much sunshine you get per day.
