we made the test when he had influenza or common cold and the doctor said it shows mild hypochromia and microcytosis, and mild lymphopenia
i dont know what does this mean and how to get them in normal range by either food or medicins.
is this due to not proper feeding?
must i go to a doctor? is this signeficant to something?
thank you very much

Answer
Hi Iman.  Based on your son's test results, I would say that yes, he is slightly anemic. (The lymphopenia is pprobably from the influenza that he had at that time.)  His iron level is low, which means he probably has iron deficiency anemia.  To build iron in his blood, good food choices are green, leafy vegetables, red meat, and iron-enriched cereals.  If his iron doesn't go up after a few weeks of eating these foods, he may need an iron supplement (a vitamin).  Check with his doctor.
