QuestionOK, I am going to be 22 in March. I have 2 kids. ANd In august I was diagnosied with endo. by a laprocopy. The doctor did not remove any of it! He just drained a cysts. So I have gone to three different doctors sense then and My last one is really good. He suggested the PN and we were having diffuculty with the insurance and all this stuff. So I call him today and tell him I got it straightened out and so he told me that If I want to just have a Hysterctomy then he will do it. WE dont want anymore kids by the way. What do you think sounds better for me, being that I am so young. I have not found out to much on the PN so I don't know what to do, Im leaning towards the Hysterctomy.
AnswerHi Sarah
Well, one thing to think about is that you are young...and most doctors wont do a hysterectomy during child bearing years...but if this doctor is a good doctor, then he must think that your endo is severe enough to do one.
I always lean towards hysterectomies, only because of the immediate relief you will have. I know of alot of women that have felt fantastic after everything was out. I also know women that still experience pain, even after a hysterectomy. But, because you are so young, and your endo must be severe, you will probably feel great.
One word of caution, just make sure you truly do not want anymore children.
In the meantime, for my discomfort and horrible cramping, I have been given an anti inflammatory called Anaprox. You take it only during your period. It works great. It relives pains, bloating, back ache, etc. It reduces the swelling in your endometrium wall, thus allowing better blood flow. Maybe this would be an option during your decision making time.
Well, best of luck to you. What ever your choice, I truly hope you find relief.
