Question Do you know or have you ever heard of endometriosis coming back after a hysterectomy, can old tissue grow or travel if it was not removed during surgies?
I had five previous surgeries for endo and cysts ect, had hysterectomy, they left one ovary and now I am in severe pain 6 yrs later, tests show 2 cysts on remaining ovary.
thanks-debbie
AnswerDear anonymous, The ovaries is what keeps making the enodmetriosis. This is why treatments are now to STOP ovulation.... WHen you had your hysterectomy, they left one ovary and that is one of the reasons you have again probably gotten endo tissue....
It is a known fact that even a hysterectomy MAY NOT get rid of ALL endo tissue. Endo tissue can already be attached to the pelvic area, the intestines, the bladder etc. So even a COMPLETE hysterectomy MAY not all ways get rid of the endo.
So if I were a betting person, I would lay odds that you again are battling ENDOMETRIOSIS....
I hope this helps and thank you, Karen
