QuestionI am having a lot of pain, periods lasting for weeks, backaches, painful sex, cramping is horrid! So I have been to several dr.s and finally found a specialist. She told me I might have endo, so she referred me to the surgeon. He told me that there is no way I have endo because I had a tubal a year ago and there is no way it could form in a year. Is this true? I really don't know what to do, I have 4 kids 6 and under and this is hard on me and them. The surgeon put me on another type of BC pill and I do not tolerate bc pills well, so I am scared. He says if I am still having pain in 3 months then we will do the laproscopic surgery to see what is going on. Please help!
AnswerHi Katie
Well, I am not a doctor...but I can't believe your doctor told you that it couldn't be endo...I think it is...Endo is a strange and very severe disease that can be present anywhere in your body (newly discovered)...and just because you had a tubal, does not mean it is not present.
You should get the lap procedure, that will tell all. Also, I wasn't very good with BC pills either...I have taken an anti inflammatory for my horrendous cramps, that really works well. It is called Anaprox DS (double strength). Ask your dr about it. You can use it just before, during and after your period.
It helps minimize the swelling in the endometrium wall, thus causing less cramping and back pain.
Try it and see if it doesn't help some. In the meantime, get the lap done and do not go back to that other doctor!
Best of luck to you, I hope you feel better.
