AnswerDear Erica, You are lucky that you even found a doctor who would do a hysterectomy at the age of 26. My daughter is 26, also has 2 children and does not want any more and she to has endometriosis... Her OB/GYN will NOT do a hysterectomy on her because of her age and the fact that she is Protein-S deficient and can't take any hormones to stop the side-effects of menopause. My daughter WANTS a hysterectomy... Instead, at the present time all she can do is 1. suffer with the endo or 2. keep having laproascopic surgeries to remove as much endo as possible each lapro treatment...
I do hope that your doctors told you that even with a hysterectomy, the chances of getting all the endo tissue are not 100% quaranteed....
There are other options. My daughter found a place that did a specific type of surgery, but they are NOT on her insurance plan and her OB/GYN would not refer her so her insurance would not pay for the procedure. I am going to give you this web site about the procedure and the medical center that does it. Maybe someone in your area does this same type and maybe you have the private money to pay for it or maybe you doctor will refer you to them.

Other than this, I can only say you are lucky to even get the hysterectomy and at least you will not suffer from the endometriosis any more, unless they can not get it all... Then it would be YEARS before you would have any problems.
I hope this helps and thank you, Karen
