Post-Mirena IUD Removal: Understanding Your Cycle & Fertility

Question
Had Mirena IUD removed on July 15 (10 weeks ago) after 2 years.  We are trying to conceive.  Had a period 2 days after removal.  12 days later had 3 days of spotting.  August 27, 30 days after the first day of spotting had another period.  September 22, 25 days after last period have a period which is what I'd consider normal for me while not using any form of contraception.  This is the first time I have had an IUD.  Prior to this I had used the birth control pill, and with all my children had conceived either the 1st or 2nd month after stopping the pill.  I am wondering if this period may signify the return to my normal cycle and if we now have a chance of conceiving?  Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Kylie,

I'm happy to hear that you had the IUD removed. I have been receiving reports and information about the Mirena IUD and I personally don't think it is healthy. I don't recommend any kind of hormonal birth control method. I can't tell you what date your conception might have been. Will you please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com so we can talk further.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
