Postpartum Bleeding After C-Section: What to Expect & When to Worry

Question
I had my daughter a little over a month ago, by planned c-section (I had placenta previa - complete)I had the reddish bleeding (Not alot) for about 4 weeksm then it kind of stopped, and all I had was a brownish discharge. But just recently I've started bleeding a large amount (meaning - before I got pregnant I would go 3-4 hours without soaking a super plus tampon when I started my periods (at heaviest flow), but now within 45min. I was starting to leak. Is this my period? or could there be something wrong? Please help!

Answer
It is normal for a first postpartum period to be heavier than normal.  If you are soaking through a heavy pad in less than an hour, you should be evaluated by a doctor for possible excessive blood loss.  But it's still possible that this is normal for you, and subsequent periods will be lighter.
