QuestionI would like to know what my concerns should be, if any, at this time. I had an iud inserted on Feb. 8 of this year and started a period on Feb.19 that continues. I saw a gyn this last Thurs. and had the iud removed and assumed the bleeding would stop shortly thereafter. It not only continues, it seems now to be heavier over these last couple of days. Including today I believe this is day 15 of bleeding. I am a breastfeeding 41 year old mother. I do take a multi-vitamin with iron supplement. The gyn gave me no indication as to what to expect with the bleeding. I had a normal pap smear in Jan. of this year and am in good health. I have no history of any female problems and am in a monogamous(sp?) relationship.

well do to taking the IUD out,now your body has to adjust to the damage its done.
its like your body has to heal it self,from inside out,right now.
if you are still having bleeding in another week i suggest seeing your doctor again,its like a waiting game.
