QUESTION: I'm a 24 year old girl my first question is  I was reading on Internet that girls can get yeast infections if they don't dry the vulva after a shower is that true and why does water if not dryer up cause that I have more after this hope you can answer these questions for me I have alot hope to hear from you soon

ANSWER: Yeast like warm, moist conditions.  It's normal for us to have yeast on and inside our bodies.  They only overgrow and become an infection if conditions are just right.  If the vulva stays moist, there may be more chance for a yeast infection to develop.

They say sitting in a wet bathing suit for a long time can cause one how long are they speaking like how many hrs for one to develop



Next can a yeast infection always happen if a girl sits in a wet bathing suit. I hear some girls never get one if they remain wet why is that

ANSWER: The wet bathing suit just increases the conditions for a yeast infection.  Some women could sit in wet bathing suits all day and never get yeast.  Others might get a yeast infection after 5 minutes in a wet bathing suit. There are many other factors, such as stress, eating sweets, natural immunity, hormonal changes, taking antibiotics, diabetes, etc.

I'm prone to them now should I use dial to wash my vulva and clit


Also is tea tree oil body wash okay to use down there just clean outside of it

Dial is probably as good as any soap.  I don't think the type of soap will predispose to yeast infections.  Occasionally a person can develop an allergy to a specific soap.

Tea tree oil is OK to use on the outside.
