Diamond Scratching: Can Diamonds Scratch Diamonds?

I tried to see if you answered a similar question before for someone else. I have never asked you a question before? Can you please answer my question? Here is a copy of my question:

I was just wondering...how easy is it to scratch diamonds with diamonds. I was just wondering because I was wearing my diamond earrings and I accidently brushed my diamond ring against one of my earrings. Do you think I could have scratched either of the diamonds. I can't find my loop and I'm kind of concerned. Am I being paranoid, or is it that simple to scratch a diamond. Just by the two gently touching eachother do you think I scratched one of them?

Im not sure why my previous answer did come through on the site......it probably should be reported, any case.................. dont worry about this as it is difficult to scratch your diamond with another just by brushing against it, you need some type of force to do this....simply brushing against it will do nothing, good luck
