QuestionQUESTION: My period is been late for two month since the abortion on February. Is this common?
ANSWER: Yes, this is quite common. It can take up to six months for your menstrual cycle to get back to normal after an abortion.
You may also experience many other pregnancy-like symptoms for 2-3 months, including -
* nausea (morning sickness)
* food aversions/cravings
* fatigue
* frequent urnination
* bloating
* positive result on OTC pregnancy test
This is because pregnancy hormones that cause these effects stay in your system for up to three months after an abortion.
However, if you have had unprotected sex 2 weeks (or later) after your procedure, there is also the chance that you are pregnant again, and that is causing your missed periods. Since OTC pregnancy tests are unreliable at this point, the only way you can be sure you are pregnant is to get a blood test at your doctor's office.
If you haven't had unprotected sex, then it's fine - nothing to worry about.

QUESTION: Thanks for answering my question in such short period but i still doubt that why the doctor gave me a white and mini pil after the procedure? He even told me to eat for 21 days without skipping. Is this a birth control pil? Is this pil causing me to miss my menstrual until now? Im kinda worry when is my menstrual is coming back to normal or it will not come back that causes me can't get pregnant in the future. Please guide me....
AnswerYes, what your doctor gave you was probably a birth control pill. Didn't you ask him what the pills were for? It is common for doctors to prescribe birth control pills soon after an abortion, because fertility returns almost immediately, and since you've just had an abortion, doctors assume that you do not want to get pregnant again.
If you took the pills every day and for 21 days only, then you will have a period as per normal within 3-4 days after you stop taking the pill. You will have to restart the pill exactly 7 days after stopping it, even if it means beginning to take it when you are still having your period.
Birth control pills won't stop you from becoming pregnant in the future. If you decide you're ready to have a child, you simply stop taking the pills, and you can become pregnant almost immediately.
The delay in your period now is probably happening only due to your cycle being irregular because of the pregnancy hormones still in your body. The birth control pills will in fact help to regulate your cycle more quickly than normal, and you will probably begin to have your period again soon.
