I had a medical abortion on Weds 28th Jan. I took 1 tablet at midday, then inserted 4 tablets at 6pm. By 9pm I had period like pains, though not severe ones, and I started bleeding. I have continued to bleed but the flow is light, much like my normal period. I certainly haven't 'passed' anything, and I am concerned that it may have not worked properly.
I also had Implanon fitted on the same day and wondered if this could affect it in any way.

I wonder about who instructed you.
When you took the first tablet, possibly mifepristone, the action is that the fetal sac is detached from the uterine wall. This will take some 36 to 48 hours. AFTER that period of time you insert 4 tabs of
misoprostol ( a different drug), which makes the uterus contract to expel the loose fetal material. No I do not know - as you did not tell me - in which week of the pregnancy you were. If this was a very young pregnancy this material can escape your attention.
Anyway, I hate those drugs. A short surgical curettage finalizes the whole thing in 5 minutes.
I do not know if you are still pregnant, how could I ?
A pregtest stays positive for 3 more weeks, so neither helps you.
My advise would be to go back to the clinic again and have an ultrasound made.
