Post-Abortion Bleeding & Potential Pregnancy: What to Know

Doctor-

I had a medical abortion in the first week of November of 2010. I bled straight for six weeks alternating between a heavy and light flow. I had not experienced any bleeding for one full week and was relieved that it had finally ended. However, today I had a tiny bit of spotting. It has already stopped however I am very concerned as to why I had this. Could I be pregnant again? Or is this considered normal?

If you review previous answers, you will find that you can have period like bleeding or spotting up to 80 days after a medical abortion.  You are not pregnant.  You should be practicing safe sex or using a reliable method of birth control- pill, ring, patch or shot.
