Questionhi doctor,i am 25 years of age and stay in India.
i had my abortion three days ago.it was my sixth week.previously i was suffering from chronic nausea, vomiting and weakness.
prior to the abortion,i was shown the psonography and informed i was expecting twins. now three days post abortion,i feel better, but i am afraid the nausea is coming back!i feel like throwing up after every meal.i am always in doubt if both the fetus were removed successfully. is it true due to hormonal changes my urine will test positive for pregnancy for the next 15 days? is this normal? how do i confirm i am not pregnant anymore.
AnswerDear Priya,
You had an early abortion, so your symptoms should go away very quickly. If you continue to have nausea every day and it is not getting better by two more days, you should go back and get another evaluation by the office that performed the abortion. Unfortunately the pregnancy test can stay positive for a month, so it is not helpful.
There is more information on pregnancy symptoms after abortion at earlyabortionoptions.com (go to the section on making your decision, then aftercare and aftercare FAQ's).
I hope this is helpful,
