Hi Dr, my name is Zimbini I have a 27 year old sister she came to me last week crying and confessing to me that she had about 3 abortions in her life so she was asking me that can she be able to conceive again because she is ready to have a child now. She is saying she is afraid that may be she cant have a child of her own after those 3 abortions of her life. I feel for her because she is desperate now to have a child of her own I can feel. Thank you.

Dear Zimbini,
There is usually no difficulty with conceiving a normal pregnancy after several abortions.  Routine abortion does not cause infertility problems, unless there was a complication during the procedure.  As long as she gets her periods regularly, she should be fine to get pregnant when she wants to.  She was able to conceive the 3rd time, so that is a good sign.
