Medical Abortion Procedure: What to Expect & Aftercare

Question
Hi, I and My Girlfriend had sex earlier this month(10th
Dec). Lately she complained of dizziness, nausea and
swelling in both legs. She did a home pregnancy test and it
turned out negative(25nd Dec). Today when she went to a
gynecologist and tested, it turned out to be positive. She
immediately opted for a medical abortion as it was less
that 25 days from her last period. Her last period was on
6th Dec. The Doctor gave an injection and said her that the
abortion will happen and she will get her period within 1
or 2 weeks. She also gave her some vitamin tablets all of
which is to be taken at night.

Is this procedure correct? Is there anything we need to do?
Or should we go for consultation again? If you feel like
saying anything then please do let me know.

If you need any other information please do ask me! (We
don't know the injection name, but if u need we can get you
the tablet name, etc)

Thank You
Vimal

Answer
Hello Vimal,

Thanks for your question. I am not a medical professional so of course, I always recommend asking your personal physician. Where do you live so I can also know to give you proper advice?

I did do some research on the medical injection because it is not common where I live. I read that this method requires another visit for a followup. I do not know if the "vitamin" tablets are really that or some other kind of medication. It is not good that you do not know the injection name but yes, you can tell me the tablet name.

May I ask why you and she wanted to get an abortion instead of having your child? My research says that there is 1 in 20 chance of the abortion not working. Are you having second thoughts about doing this? Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and put ALLEXPERTS in the subject line. Write as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
