QuestionQUESTION: Hi, I was six week pregnants, then the sac disappeared.I only had small brown discharges and no pain. One week later, I started feeling cramps and bleeding similar to period. Is that related to the incompleter abortion or is it a hetertopic pregnancy. How the B hcg should go after abortion and when it will become Zero.
ANSWER: Hello, Hanaa,
You really need to see a doctor about this. These are the kinds of questions that cannot be answered over the internet, not even by a doctor. You should go immediately. If you do have an ectopic pregnancy, it is an emergency situation. Better to be checked out and be assured that you are safe. I hope you do well, and please let me know what you find out.

QUESTION: Thanks, I went to doctors, many, they are different. All of them said I have incomplete abortion. However, one of them said she is seeing swelling close to the left ovary, she suspects hetertopic pregnancy. The others said the swelling is a cyst. I'm confused. I feel ok.I lost my baby and have some light bleeding. I dont have pain in my left ovary.I'm fine. But I'm worried from the doctor's view about ectopic pregancy. Can that be a result of hyperstimulation as I performed an icsi operation. by the way all doctors said they saw altered collection in Douglas Pouch.I dont know what to do
ANSWER: Hello, Hanaa,
If the one doctor suspects heterotopic pregnancy, she needs to check it out. If you have an ectopic pregnancy, it needs attention, but it is possible you have a cyst. And yes, I would think it's possible that having an icsi operation could cause hyperstimulation, and in that case, having a heterotopic pregnancy would make sense. If they all say you had an incomplete operation, then why aren't they doing anything about it? An incomplete abortion is a threat to your health, even possibly your life. The fact that they all think the Douglas Pouch is involved is also worrisome. Keep pursuing this. This is not the sort of thing that anybody can help you with over the internet. This sounds like an abnormal situation. Keep asking questions. Don't give up until you have some answers. Please let me know what you find out.

QUESTION: Dear Sir, thanks for ur reply. I went to another doctor to check if there was ectopic. He examined me using ultrasound and said that there is no ectopic and the ovary is in its normal size. also he said there is no collection in Douglas Pouch. However, he was worried because the B HCG is going down very slowly. Now after two weeks of the abortion start, the hormone is 528 two consequent days. One week earlier,it was 853. He once again suspects ectopic .He insisted to give me Methortrexate injection just in case. Now my question is : How hormone levels go after abortion? Is it a problem that it is going slowly. Could u please reply me as I'm very worried.
AnswerHello, Hanaa,
Please know that I am a woman.
Thanks for getting back to me. It sounds like you are doing better than we were concerned about. As long as the HCG is going down, I don't know why the doctor would give you any medication. Any time such a powerful medicine is put into your body, it's asking for trouble.
Basically, your body will return to a normal state over time, and for some women, it takes a lot longer than others. But if you continue to take drugs, your hormones won't balance until all of that is out of your system.
So you will have to decide whether you want to let the doctor give you more drugs or not. It really is your decision. I don't know what the laws say in Egypt about following doctor's orders, but here, we have the right to refuse treatment. If you develop a problem that threatens your life, then obviously, you will need to seek medical help. An example would be if you start bleeding profusely. But HCG that is declining too slowly is simply a source of worry. Continue to ask questions. Let the doctor do a followup. Keep in touch with him. But if he wants to give you more medication, ask lots more questions. Ask him what the consequences will be. Ask him what he thinks the consequences will be if you don't take the medication. Ask him to let you see the information on the drug, or look it up on the internet.
Just take one day at a time. As long as you are otherwise healthy, and the only problem is that the HCG is still too high, just be patient. When a woman is carrying a healthy baby, HCG increases for awhile. The decrease sounds promising. If you start feeling any pain, talk to the doctor right away. But otherwise, just be patient.
Also, it is best to stay away from icsi treatments. Even though you may want a baby, and that seems like the only answer, it has too many problems of its own. For example, a baby conceived through icsi is more prone to certain birth defects. Instead, consider adoption. Adoption is a good choice for parenting. I know this because we adopted two children, and our younger daughter also adopted two children. If you adopt a newborn, you can even breastfeed. If you are interested, I will explain this.
Please take care of yourself, and let me know how you are doing.
