How do i go about it and what other procedure can i try. I am a Nigerian and abortions arent legal so i cant just waltz into a hospital and ask for help. Pls what shud i do. In die need, i cnt keep the baby. Thank you

Answer
Hello, belle,

Sometimes the pills don't work after 6 weeks. If you measured from the date you think you conceived, it is almost a certainty they won't do anything. Putting those pills in your vagina is VERY dangerous. It can kill you. I can't say whether the intravascular fibroid prevented the pills from working, but having an abortion with such a fibroid could also kill you. You could bleed to death. If all you took were pills in the vagina, that's also a possible reason why they didn't work. And by now, it is unlikely the pills will work, even if there was a chance when you were 6 weeks.

You haven't said why you can't keep the baby, but your life could depend on keeping the baby at least until birth, from what you are telling me. Abortion IS dangerous, and if you have a medical condition, it can be even more dangerous. There is no point in killing yourself because you are facing problems because of your pregnancy.

There are alternatives. I recommend you email a person in Nigeria who can help you. Here is his email address: bill.ardill@sim.org . Please do this. He will know what resources are available to you there. Please let me know when you have done this and what he said. I will email him and tell him to expect to hear from you. You will be in my prayers.

Please take care. Don't hurt yourself any more. You deserve better. Keep in touch, and let me know how things go.
