Pregnancy After Abortion: Understanding Early Symptoms & Concerns

Question
Hi,
In October 2009 I was 5 wks pregnant and had an abortion via pill. I recently concieved again and had decided i would not ever go that route again. Id say im about 2 to 3 weeks along...except maybe not. Yesterday my fiance and I went to the emergency room because i was having severe cramps and heavy bleeding. They didnt tell me much except that it could be early stages of miscarriage or everything COULD be okay. It didnt do anything but stress me out more. Im still bleeding, not cramping as bad, but still just as worried. I fear my recent abortion may have not helped this one along. My bloodtype is rh- and when i had my first child in 08, i recieved the rhogam shot and again when i had the abortion and again yesterday. Basically i just need you to tell me what you think on abortions effecting future pregnancies, and if you think that there is anyway i am not having a miscarriage at all, or if so, not because of what i did in my past. Thanks so much.

Answer
Hi Krista,
normally abortions, when performed in a medical setting, do not interfere with future fertility.
You had a miscarriage which is to be considered as a correction by nature of a wrong pregnancy.
Take care and do not worry.
Bye for now,
