Questioni had an abortion on 02-23-10 how long after would it come up negative on a pregnancy test. i took a test yesterday 5-1-10 and it read positive does that mean this is a new pregnancy? i went to the Dr 3 weeks after my abortion and had a follow up, she said everything was fine and that my period should start the 1st or 2nd week of april i had my period on the first week of april cant remember the date, i still have yet to see my period. please help me figure this out thank you.

You really should have a negative pregnancy test at this point. So it probably means a new pregnancy. This is especially true since you had a period. You should check, however, to see how strong the pregnancy is, because 1/4 of pregnancies end in miscarriage anyway.
