Answer
Hi, yolanda,

It is not uncommon for an abortion to miss the baby, in which case, the woman will still be pregnant. If the doctor in the ER said you are still pregnant, apparently he felt he could make that determination. If you can talk to him, he can tell you what he observed and why he believes this to be the case. If not, you can ask another doctor.

I urge you not to take any more risks. Abortion is dangerous. If you still have your baby, the man who did the abortion is clearly incompetent. I would never, ever place my life in his hands again!

Sex the day before your abortion wouldn't cause a detectable pregnancy this soon. What it could do is help you to catch an STD if you don't already have one, and your partner does. You should insist that both of you be checked, if either of you has had sex with anyone else. Abortion will leave raw surfaces in mucus membranes where infection can take hold easily. Another danger is that the abortionist didn't sterilize the instruments he used on you, and you could have gotten an STD from a previous patient. That happens far more often than we'd like to think.

If you develop pain or a fever, see a doctor immediately! Also, watch for excessive prolonged bleeding. You are still at risk from the abortion.

If you need any kind of emotional or material help at this point, please let me know. I will be here for you. Feel free to ask more questions. Stay safe!
