ANSWER: I think you should get your periods after taking progesterone. It is completely normal to have a delayed period after abortion. This is probably because you did not ovulate during this one month, and anyways you suffer from PCOD, which know to cause anovulatory cycle(where no ovulation occurs), so a delayed period is quite normal and can be expected in your case. So i think there is no cause for distress.
Just repeat the urine pregnancy test in a couple of days and get back to me with the result.
I don't think you need to get this distressed, you will be OK

QUESTION: this is a follow up question ,i checked preg test today ,its my 4oth day and its negative,i have taken regestrone tablets also, when can i expect my periods,i just did strip test,do i have to check in lab and confirm once again.
ANSWER: No there is no requirement to confirm it in the lab as these strip tests are quite accurate. But I hope you are sure that you did not see two lines(however faint they may be). Since you have started taking progesterone, you should take it for five days and then stop. After stopping the drug, you should get your periods within 48 hours. But I must warn you that your are likely to experience heavy bleeding and may also have cramps. So be prepared with hot water bottles and pain killers. Also start treatment for your PCOD, otherwise you will continue to have irregular periods.
Get back to me once your periods have come.

QUESTION: Hello doctor i had regesterone till Saturday morning ,its totally 6 tablets for 2 days ,but still i didn get my periods.im confused and worried, wat shall i do,shall i check wit doctor again.moreover im leaving to my home town day after tomorrow ,is it advisable to travel.kindly clarify
Answer I will advice you not to travel as if you get your periods they are likely to be heavy. Secondly if you continue taking the tablets you will never have periods. You will have to take them for three -four days and then stop them. Only then will you get your periods. I repeat, you will have to stop the meds to get periods. If you continue taking regesterone you will not have your periods.
