Post-Abortion Period Irregularities: What to Expect & When to Worry

Question
I took the abortion pill on March 12th and immediately got my bleeding.  6 weeks to the day later, I got my first period post abortion.  Seemed perfectly normal.  I expected to start my second post-abortion period 4 weeks later but I have not yet gotten it. My husband and I had unprotected sex once in the past month (he pulled out).  I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was clearly negative.  I know it's possible to become pregnant again but I was wondering if it was possible to have an irregular cycle following the abortion pill.  I've only had once period since the pill and that was 6-weeks after the abortion.  Could my cycle be thrown off?

Answer
It can take up to 10 weeks after taking the pill before your period gets to normal. You should not have unprotected sex.  You can conceive within 7-14 days after taking the pill.  Remember, the medicine does not affect ovulation.  It takes an ovulation to get your cycle back to normal. You can have irregular periods for the first 3 cycles You can have irregular bleeding as long as 80 days after taking the pill.
