AnswerHello, Daniela,
What kind of abortion did you have?
As for when you will get your period back, nobody can tell you that. You will have to wait and see. Is it normal not to have one 9 weeks after an abortion? Well, having an abortion isn't normal, and neither are any of the consequences. I wouldn't consider not having a period for 9 weeks to be that much of a concern. One woman told me she didn't have a period for six months. I would be concerned about that.
Abortion disrupts a woman's hormonal balance. For that reason, a woman can experience excessive bleeding for weeks, or she can experience virtually no bleeding for a lot longer than seems reasonable.
Please be aware that a woman can get pregnant before her period returns after an abortion (or after childbirth). If you are not in a position to care for a child, I recommend that you not have sex until you are married. Don't rely on "protection". It doesn't work. You really deserve better. You have taken a significant medical risk, and there is also the risk of getting a nasty disease. You can get this either from your partner or from the abortion. Some abortionists don't clean their instruments properly. If your partner has ever had sex with anyone else, whether he has told you or not, this is a risk. You should learn to tell when you are fertile. You have to chart faithfully, and you can't be using any hormones. For more information, please visit this web site:

Regardless of what kind of abortion you had, if this was your first pregnancy, you have greatly increased the chance you will get breast cancer. They probably didn't tell you about that; it is rare for an abortionist to get true informed consent. The kind of breast cancer women get after an abortion is particularly deadly; it kills 1/4 of its victims. It tends to strike while a woman is still young, such as in her 30's. If you have a close relative who has had breast cancer, getting is a virtual certainty. I recommend you get regular thermograms (mammograms can spread breast cancer) and get some supplements from now on. In particular, some supplements that may decrease the likelihood of breast cancer are Vitamin D3 and Resveratrol. They recommend a woman get about 5000 IU of Vitamin D3 a day, and a woman needs to have her blood tested periodically to make sure she is not overdosing.
If you had a surgical abortion, then the risk your future children will suffer from birth defects has been increased significantly. If you had a surgical abortion and would like me to tell you the details, as well as what can be done to prevent these problems, please let me know.
Please take care of yourself, don't take any more chances with your life, and let me know how things go.
